MPP election result

Last Wednesday, 27/11/2013 at the Kompleks Sukan UiTM Shah Alam was held the vote counting and announcement of results of the JPP election UiTM for the session 2013-2014. All candidates from the 24 faculties in UiTM had gathered to know the results of the JPP election. The event was started at 8.30 pm and ended at about 10pm. Among the candidates from the Faculty of Information Management are as follows: Sharifuddin bin Sulaman from IM227, Nurhazwani Mohd Nafiah from IM247, and Muhamad Waridi bin Lokman Tee from IM224. The results was announced by Prof. Dato Dr. Abdullah Mohd Said, Deputy Vice Censelor UiTM Student Affairs. Tan Sri Dato 'Sri Prof. Ir Dr. Sahol Hamid bin Abu Bakar also attended the event to support all candidate. The result for MPP election as follows: Saiffuddin bin Sulaman got 720 votes, Nurhazwani Mohd Nafiah got 624 votes, and Muhamad Waridi bin Lokman Tee got 990 votes. The winner of the MPP election Of UiTM Puncak Perdana is Muhamad Waridi Bin Lokman Tee. The picture below during the announcement result.

The Book Village Malaysia Melaka project begun on 9 April 2007 originally initiated by the Melaka State Government but its management was transferred to Hang Tuah Jaya Corporation and was officially opened to public by Datuk Seri Hj Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam, Chief Minister of Melaka on 17 April 2007.

The idea of setting up Book Village Malaysia Melaka was mooted by Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Sanusi Junid, the Founder Chairman of the Book Village Foundation Malaysia, and it received positive from the Datuk Seri Hj Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam, Chief Minister of Melaka.Book Village Malaysia Melaka is the second of its kind after the Book Village Malaysia Langkawi and it is the 5th in Asia and the 33rd in the World. It is part of the International Organizations of Book Towns and Book Towns Movement. There are currently 15,000 books in the Book Village Malaysia Melaka.A book village is a small rural area, usually town or village.

The objective of Book Village Foundation Malaysia is to promote, establish and manage in Malaysia a Book Village by means of which the public of large and book lovers in particular may have access to new and second hand book, reference and reading materials for the purpose of acquiring knowledge. Currently, Book Village at Melaka is under renovation for the upstair of the building. But user still can come here to study or get any reading materials.

On 25 and 26 November 2013, 20 students IM2245A with his  lectures Sir Azmi b. Ab Rahman make a visit to USIM Publication and Book Village Melaka. This visit is make to complete the subject IML601 Publication and Production of Information Materials that must be taken by student part 5 course IM224.  When visit USIM Publication student can improve their knowledge in publication, one of the staff USIM publication is Pn Nor Adibah Muhamad have give a brief  to student how their department operation,  how their publish book and technology that use. Other than that, USIM Publication also gives a some book from their publication as a gift to student.

For the next day, 26 November 2013 student have been go to Book Village Melaka. The Book Village Melaka location at Ayer Keroh Melaka near at Taman Botanical Ayer Keroh Melaka and Melaka Wonderland beside that Book Village Melaka is the second book village that have been in Malaysia after Book Village Langkawi.  At the Book Village Melaka student can see any kind different book that have been exhibit. Election Day at UiTM Puncak Perdana

UiTM Puncak Perdana, 27 Nov 2013 - UiTM Puncak Perdana students were needed to fulfill their responsibility to chose their candidates selection for “Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar” (MPP). This election is for year 2013/2014. #PRK2013. This picture were taken at College Jasmine area. 

The candidacies of UiTM MPP from Faculty of Information Management is Muhamad Waridi Bin Lokman Tee, he is student in semester 05 from Library Science (IM 224). His manifesto are to give the improvements of facilities at faculty and college, the walfare of the students either the stay at college or Non-Residents (NR), to create "Entrepreneur Campus" and last but not least is to develop activities program for students at campus.

Next is NurHazwani Binti Mohd Nafiah and she is student in semester 04, from Resource Center.

And last candidate is Sharifuddin Bin Sulaiman which is student in semester 05 from System Management.

The elections start at 8.30 am to 5.00 pm on the second floor of the faculty at Seminar room. The result will be announced to night at around 9 pm at UiTM Shah Alam.

Karnival Ilmu (Part 2)

LPPKN, KUALA LUMPUR, 21 Nov. 2013 – 20 students from elective class IMA 653 (A) subject promotional activities in Resource Center has been done their final project at Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN), Jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur. This program is joint venture program between LPPKN and the students IMA 653 (A). The advisor of this program is Madam Adila and this program has invited Mr. Airol Irwan Limin from Pro Rev Consultancy and Service as consultan for the topic “Perisai Buat Wanita” on that day. This program has brought 35 participations from UiTM Puncak perdana students. The talk program has runs at “dewan besar” level 21 of the building. Perisai Buat Wanita as known as (PBW) is a problem-solving approach to a variety of problems involving relationships with other people, whether unmarried or married. It also became one of the alternatives for a solution to the cases often we hear and see as sexual harassment, fraud money, drug mules, and other abuse. Moreover, the others activities on that day are coloring for staff children, quizzes, fashionista, booth and lucky draw. In the evening, the students need to go downstairs at level 13, auditorium room. Here, students need to lend their ears to listen talk about sexual harassment by Dr. Zuhrah Binti Musa and Mr. Nor Sazali Bin Mansor. Let we see the video about sexual harassment by them.

New Library System

Puncak Alam, Selangor, 23 Nov. 2013 – A group of Experimental Library UiTM Puncak Perdana with 25 students and 1 lecturer was successful build one system to the library of Surau Al-Furqan, Puncak Alam. The activities that has been done is key-in data in system, barcode system, book tagging, arrange the book and magazine to shelve according to subject related. 

This activity was takes 6 sessions. It start with arrange the book to shelve and tagging the book by color on 4 -5 October 2013 and it was followed to next weekend to finish the work. This program was conducted by Nur Izzati as a leader for this program and Mr. Amzari as lecturer also was helping the students in finish key-in the data.  This program was introduced for this “surau”. So that it have a good system to monitor the movement of the library materials. It makes the librarian easy to detect the library materials either it is missing or borrow by their user. So that, the librarian easy to do their work than before they are using manual system if the user want to borrow the library materials. Certain of the library materials were donated by people that live around the “surau” and there is also books and magazine that the library buys for children reading. 

The program was launched by Ustaz Haji Zakaria Bin Mustafa, president of Surau Al-Furqan and he is also one of UiTM lecturer that teaching CTU Subject at UiTM Puncak Perdana and Puncak Alam. Experimental Library has invited Dr. Wan Abdul Kadir Bin Wan Dollah as VVIP yesterday. The lecturer and president Surau Al-Furqan was introduced the system to him to show how the systems work for the library future. The system that was used is KOHA and nowadays, many libraries use the system to keep the all library data.

        On 21 November 2013 , 20  student elektif A together with the  lectures  PN A’dillah bt Mustafa make a program at Lembaga Pembangunan dan Penduduk Keluarga Negara (LPPKN) Jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur. This program under subject  IMA 653 Promotional activities in resources centre. This program is collaboration student Faculty Information Management UITM Puncak Perdana with Lembaga Pembangunan dan Penduduk Keluarga Negara (LPPKN).

The aims of this program is  to expose students to the ways how to manage the program and want to student get closer with community also to improve their communication skill.  This program's theme is “Karnival Ilmu” and there are many of activities  on the that day. In example, the talk that has given by Encik Airol Irwan Limin, the writer of the book, title “Buku Perisai Buat Wanita” the topic that he given about “Menangani Gangguan Seksual”.

Other than that their also open a Booth, sales, quiz, forum, art and creative. This program start at 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. Besides that, their also provide a coupon, certificate and lucky draw prizes to student who join this program.Other than that, in this program the audience  are told about how to protect the women herself from the bad guy, how to know the words that are usually use for cheating women and how to stop the situation if it happen to the women. It is because many women, ladies or girls are stuck with the bad guy nowadays as the developments of technology are increased. Many of them are cheated by bad guy. Every single time, the mass media reported about this case and it is increased by time to time. So as the women, we should protect ourselves from be cheated by bad guy.

Program Pentauliahan Professional (3P)

      On 20 November 2013, 3P Briefing have been given to student final years at Faculty Information Management UITM Puncak Perdana. 3P is stand for Program Pentauliahan Professional. This program makes for student final years as a preparation before finish study. 3P program that have been organized by Prestariang and Collaboration with Ministry of Education (MOE) . That brief was held at Bilik Seminar Level 1 at Faculty Information Management at 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. That brief tell student about what 3P program is and how to register and join this program. This program will make during semester break and students need to attend the class for 1 week and take the exam to get a certificate. 

       3P program is about in efforts to bridge the knowledge gap between technology and skill-sets in today’s competitive job market, the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Prestariang Systems Sdn Bhd have embarked on an industry based certification initiative that is more relevant to industry needs. Their target is for IT and IT related final year’s students. The classes conducted by Certified Master Trainers. Courses and certificates are in English and standard set internationally by vendors. Each class for 25 students only. Participants with minimum of 75% attendance receive Certificate of Attendance. This programme includes Soft skill modules to enhance employability. Before attend the class student need to register online and choose which professional certificates their want such as EC-Council Project Management (EPM), ITIL Foundation (ITIL), CompTIA Security + (Security+) and PRINCE2 Foundation (PRINCE2).

This   program starts at 9:00 am until 5:00 pm around PTAR UITM Puncak Perdana. This program theme “Fizikal dan Mental Sihat Penjana Generasi Berkualiti”. The program that have been maker is Pameran, Pro Evolution Soccer, Sepak Bola, Ping pong, Instax photo, Teka bendera, Badge Buttons and Boling kelapa. At the program also have a sales Tudung and books. Other than that this program also provides a coupon, certificate and gift to the student who joins these activities.

The colour of knowledge

“The colour of knowledge.”

          On 9 November 2013 student part 4 IM224 groups 4C UITM Puncak Perdana with their lectures PN Hasnah bt Rahim have been held a program that theme “The Colour of Knowledge” at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seksyen 7 Shah Alam Selangor. This  program is organises to meet the syllabus IML553 Public Relation paper. The purpose of this program is to expose students on how to manage the program and improve their communication skills. The program was held at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seksyen 7 Shah Alam, the program start at 8:00 am until 6:00 pm. Their target audience is student year 6 because there have just finish UPSR exam and can fill their free time. Among the activities are group games, PowerPoint workshop, presentation, “Ceramah” and info race. This program is collaboration between student part 4 IM224 group 4C UITM Puncak Perdana with Sekolah Kebangsaan Seksyen 7 Shah Alam Selangor.
