Additional Information : Faculty of Information Management Open Day Program

A big program in the Faculty of Information Management has been conducted by Information Management Student Association (IMSA) with the cooperation of the counseling department of HEP, PTARPP,  GENLIS, and RECMA. This program has been held for three days which on the 25th until 27th October 2013 recently.
As the opening event in the Open Week Information Management program, a talk entitled “Where is your direction?” has been held at 1st floor seminar room of FIM. This talk has been hosted by Mr Sulaiman bin Selamat with an interesting topic for student, “Kemanakah Hala Tuju Anda” at 10 a.m. Next, “Ujian Kendiri dan Personaliti”, an event of counseling that helps the student to confer about their involvement, career and so on. This event has been held at the Tun Abdul Razak Library (PTAR), Puncak Perdana and took place simultaneously with talk event. Then, exactly at 8.30 p.m. one night charity event that titled, “UntukMu Palestine” has taken place. This charity event also has held a talk and stalls about Gaza which held it in front of faculty FIM.
On the 26th October, two events “FIM’s Street Fair” and “Songs Dedication & Karaoke Star Stage” have lasted concurrently. Firstly, the fair is an entrepreneurship event that encourages students to venture into business. It was held along FIM’s foyer which lined with various students’ stalls. Aside from busier students to sale their goods, this fair was graced by inviting bands like “Orange In The Wood” and “SAJA”. Besides that, another event is for lecturers, families and friends to entertain themselves by dedicating or sing a song for beloved ones. Fees for each song were applied to its category. RM 1 was being charged for songs dedication, meanwhile for karaoke RM 2 was imposed. For the main event, a paranormal forum was being discussed that entitled “Paranormal Forum 2.0” with its topic “Jin, Gangguan dan Rawatan Islam” was held. This forum was moderated by Akmal Mazidul Sidek as a special invited guest that been held in the yard of FIM at 8.30 p.m. While all these activities were progressively run, the IMSA society also held a futsal tournament at Sports Planet Puncak Alam that lasted for the whole and was well received by 11 teams consisting of 3 women teams and 8 men teams.
On the last day, aerobics was held in the yard of FIM with Information Management’s students. Then, a closing event was held to close the program of One Week Information Management.
 An interview session also has been conducted by FIM Online Journal team. According to the project leader Miss Nur Iliana Binti Baharudin Shah, there are many challenges that have been faced by all of the committee of the project to ensure the program successfulness. The main challenges are about time, to make the time is flexible and not redundant with another program. The meeting with another society were held from the beginning of the semester to prevent from any time management problem. Another challenges is budget and management, they tried many ways to fulfill the requirement of the budget such as funding and others. Last challenges are the slot in the project or program, the problem exists when some of the invited person cannot attend to the program and the committee time problem that are fixed with class and other responsibilities as a student that force to make many changes in the last minute before the program. However, all of the challenges have been successfully handled by the committee.  In the end of the interview session, the project leader also give its own opinion about the successful of the Faculty of Information Management Open Days to achieve its objective and satisfied with the committee and all of the student participation.
