On 10th November 2013 in Raja Tun Uda Library (PPAS) Shah Alam, a program called
Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) was held by IM2275B students (Resource Centre) under
subject Literature and Reading Guidance (IMA607) by Encik Shaharom TM Sulaiman.
This group of 22 students was led by Nor Izzati Ahmad Nazari as their project
manager.
They
had invited 20 orphans from Teratak Nur Barakah. According to Farhani
Baharuddin, one of the committee members, the objective of this program is to
expose children to reading from the other perspective through various fun
activities such as “Explorace”, storytelling competition, coloring contest and
crossword puzzle. Originally, the target audience ranged from age 5 to 12
because the content of the programs suits the children’s range of age.
The
program started at 9 a.m. and ended at 12 p.m. They had the opening and the
closing ceremony at the end of the program that was done by a representative
from PPAS.
